Dennis Toft Appointed to New Jersey Chamber of Commerce's Executive Committee

Dennis Toft, Chair of Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi’s (“CSG”) Environmental Group, has been appointed as a member of and environmental lead for the Executive Committee of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce (the “Chamber”). In this role, Toft will help monitor and provide guidance on environmental issues affecting businesses in New Jersey. He will continue to serve on the Chamber’s Board of Directors, which he joined in January 2015.

“It is an honor to be appointed to the Chamber’s Executive Committee. I look forward to leveraging my nearly 40 years of practice in environmental law for the benefit of New Jersey, its businesses and its people,” stated Toft.

The New Jersey Chamber of Commerce is a business advocacy organization that actively supports legislation, regulation and initiatives that will lead to economic growth, job creation and prosperity throughout the state.

Toft is a nationally renowned environmental lawyer whose practice primarily involves regulatory counseling, environmental due diligence, permitting, enforcement and environmental litigation, development/redevelopment and environmental insurance.

A trusted advisor to New Jersey’s business, legal and educational communities, Toft serves in numerous leadership capacities across the state – including Fellow to the American College of Environmental Lawyers and American Bar Foundation; Chair of the New Jersey Brownfields and Contaminated Site Remediation Task Force; Member of the New Jersey Institute of Technology’s Board of Trustees; Board Member with The Nature Conservancy’s New Jersey Chapter; and Board Member with NAIOP’s New Jersey Chapter.

Toft earned his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law and a degree in physics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was elected to Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society.
