CSG's Marie L. Mathews Earns Place Among ROI-NJ's 2021 Influencers: Women in Business
Marie L. Mathews, Co-Practice Group Leader of Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC’s (“CSG”) Litigation Group and the firm’s Deputy General Counsel, has been named to ROI-NJ’s inaugural 2021 Influencers: Women in Business list, which recognizes women leaders at the forefront of New Jersey’s business community.
A key figure in CSG’s Litigation Group – the firm’s largest practice, Marie spearheads a team of nearly 50 litigators alongside another leading voice at the firm, Danielle M. Corcione, and is entrusted with developing these attorneys, providing departmental oversight and growing the practice. As Deputy General Counsel, she provides her vision and guidance towards implementing and championing policies that protect the firm’s overall operational well-being.
In her practice, Marie has represented pharmaceutical, healthcare, technology, construction and financial services companies as well as law firms, among others, in a wide array of matters including antitrust and intellectual property cases, shareholder disputes, restrictive covenant cases and professional malpractice matters. Marie also brings extensive experience in navigating complex e-discovery issues.
She has leveraged her unique position and insights gleaned as Deputy General Counsel to CSG in her role as Co-Chair of the firm’s Professional Liability practice, which defends regional, U.S. and international professional services providers – including law and accounting firms – against claims of malpractice in both state and federal courts, as well as with ethics defense and counseling.
Equally committed to serving the community, Marie’s excellent judgement and leadership have also been tapped in her role as a board member with the Greater Newark Holiday Fund, which she will serve as President in the upcoming 2021-2022 term.
