Governor Murphy Expands Indoor Dining Capacity and Eliminates Curfew Starting February 5 at 8:00 a.m.

In welcome news to restaurant and bar owners before the Super Bowl, Gov. Phil Murphy announced yesterday that New Jersey will allow an increase in the capacity limits for restaurants and other businesses from 25% to 35%.
Restaurants will no longer be required to close their doors at 10 p.m., however, municipalities and counties may enact local curfews that would require restaurants and other businesses to restrict their hours and close early.
Indoor seating or standing at bars is still prohibited, as it does not provide the ability for patrons and bar staff to appropriately social distance.
The maximum number of people allowed at indoor gatherings such as religious services, wedding ceremonies, political activities, memorial services, casinos, gyms, barbershops, salons and personal care businesses will also increase to 35% of capacity with a maximum of 150 people.
