Last updated April 1, 2020

U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin announced that all taxpayers and businesses will have until July 15th to file and make payments without interest or penalties. The IRS recently clarified that the extension also applies to gift tax returns.

Pursuant to the power granted under Executive Order No. 202.12, New York’s Tax Commissioner extended the time to file tax returns and pay amounts due from April 15th to July 15th. The extension applies to returns and related payments for individuals, fiduciaries (i.e., estates and trusts) and corporations.

New Jersey's Governor, Senate President and Assembly Speaker announced they will work to extend the due date to file State income and corporate taxes to July 15th. According to an announcement on the Division of Taxation’s website, the extension also applies to payments.
