Daniel J. Tyrrell serves as Counsel in CSG’s Litigation and White Collar Criminal Defense & Government Investigations Groups. His practice focuses on the defense of individuals and companies in white collar criminal investigations, governmental and regulatory inquiries, internal investigations, and complex civil litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Daniel served as an Assistant District Attorney with the New York County District Attorney’s Office. In that role, he served as the lead prosecutor in more than 175 felony cases handling all aspects of litigation. He further partnered with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute criminal enterprises. In 2018, he was named the recipient of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor’s Award in Recognition of Exceptional Contributions.


Daniel previously served as an Associate in the Litigation Group of Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP. From 2013 until 2014, he served as a law clerk to the Hon. Peter G. Sheridan of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Prior to his clerkship, Daniel served as Counsel to the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations of the United States House of Representatives’ Committee on Energy and Commerce. In that role, he worked with a team of lawyers and investigators to conduct congressional oversight of numerous federal agencies, departments and programs to evaluate their compliance with federal laws and regulations. Daniel’s main area of focus involved the investigation of companies, federal departments, and agencies operating within the energy, telecommunications, and health care sectors, including the U.S. Department of Energy, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the Federal Communications Commission.

Daniel earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and his B.A., in Philosophy, Politics & Economics (“PPE”), from the University of Pennsylvania.
